Today was Shane's first real practice at the aerial site. He started out hitting the 7 meter jump but it didn't take him long to step up to the 14 meter. Of the 20 or so kids practicing on the freeride jumps today, he was one of 4 that was hitting the big 14 meter. Tomorrow is his last full practice on the jumps before saturdays comp. He gets two jumps during the competition. They both are scored and the scores are combined to determine a final score. There is no "best of two" in aerials. Stomp both your jumps or you have very little chance of medaling. Tomorrow he will figure out what two jumps he will perform and then make sure he has them on lock. He will only get 2 or 3 practice runs on saturday so having it down at the end of the day tomorrow is crucial. Heres a video of one of his 360s off the 14 meter.
After the resort closed to the general public they hosted a pizza party and rail jam for all the competitors. Shane got this urban 270 on which made him very happy.
